This product can increase your feed conversion ratio, prevent sours, reduce stress and improve animal nutrition. Under ideal conditions the level of beneficial bacteria is higher that pathogenic bacteria, i.e. E. Coli, Salmonella etc., which cause harm.
Calf Health
Calves are born with a bacteria free digestive tract, a clean slate you might say. However, the tract is quickly populated by bacteria present in the environment they are in, whether it’s the shed or the field. Effectively a contest for dominance of the digestive tract occurs, between the disease causing (bad guys) and the beneficial bacteria (good guys). Failure to consume the Dam’s colostrum lowers the immune defences and health of the newborn calf and as the calf doesn’t create its own immune system until week 5/6, this is the BIG DANGER PERIOD for the calf. Pathogenic bacteria (bad guys) and viruses may overwhelm that weakened immune system and cause respiratory and scour diseases. Raising large numbers of calves in close contact can help the spread of disease.
