Newborn to Foal

Description

Newborn to Foal is a rich concentration of amino acids, vitamins and trace elements in liquid form, for the young equine.

With six layers of placenta separating the mare’s circulation from the fetus, only small molecules can get through to the foal. Large proteins, such as antibody molecule cannot, and while a newborn foal’s immune system is competent in that all the players are present, aspects of it are immature. The lack of antibodies leaves the foal unprotected against bacterial and viral infections. Newborn to Foal is designed to be given at birth, to help boost and create a more aggressive immune system, helping the foal fight against disease.

Over time, the from-the-mare antibodies decay, so as critical as they were for the newborn, the 4-month-old foal no longer benefits from them. By then, it’s building it’s immunity.

Newborn to Foal can be given at other pressure times for the foal i.e. bringing mare & foal to stud, weaning or during periods of poor nutrition due to weather or lower mineral and vitamin intake and less sunlight.

• Young foals and weanlings, to help them grow, as this period of their life is the most demanding on their system.
